Holy crap I'm going to be dreaming of the torta I ate here for the rest of my life. It's not a breakfast place per se but nothing will stop me from crushing those tortas at any hour. So much flavor! So much texture! Long live Guero!

Wow! One of my favorite restaurants I have ever visited - pls do yourself a favor and order the chips (with all three PLUS order a side of their corn!!!) and add all of those on your chip. Their chips are home made and ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!!!!!! The guacamole is sooooo good and creamy. The salsa is my favorite type. There is some heat to it all but a perfect amount. The beans are sooooooooo gooooood!!!! I want more! lol the corn is really spot on Mexican street corn in a cup. Okay and please do not leave without ordering their hamberguesa (cheeseburger) omg sooooo good. It's basically a smash burger with avocado and jalapeño - but PLEASE add a fried egg!! It came out steaming hot!!! But with fresh cold veggies and a side of pickled vegetables!! What! SO GOOD! Best meal ever!!!!! I'm just visiting from Hawaii but I wish I had this at home I would be here all the time

The bowls here are great! I got a carnitas bowl, and it was delicious. The bowl was flavorful, and the meat was tender. I also enjoyed the ratio of ingredients in the bowl. There were tons of veggies and not too much rice. However, the "tortas" were a bit disappointing. As a Californian who has had my fair share of authentic tortas, I didn't think the sandwiches here quite hit the spot. If you're craving authentic tortas, don't come here.

We have been here many times. I've had the tortas but it was the red pozole and burger that made me write this review. The food is so good, the service is great, and it's a cool restaurant to chill in. One of my favorite spots in Portland.

For three of the members of my extended family, we all have something different on the menu at Guero that we have to have every time we come. For each of us, it's a different item. This is one of those places that doesn't have a huge selection, but everything they offer is amazing. And it's not like you can't get a decent torta or bowl or burger in Portland, but for any of these items, Guero is well worth the trip and the time it takes to find parking in this neighborhood. Service remains first rate as well. The back of the restaurant is set up for what appears to be a thriving to-go business, while the front of the house gets tended to quickly and efficiently. I have to close with another torta reference - first off, they have a Pollo Pibil option, something that I'm not sure I've seen anywhere else. Secondly, the tortas are beautifully crafted. This is not to say that a big, messy torta is a bad thing, but the elegance and flavor found in Guero's tortas is not to be missed.

Güero No. 1 Tortas has amazing food! The tortas are flavorful, fresh, and packed with generous portions. The staff is friendly and quick, even when it gets busy. The atmosphere is casual and relaxed perfect for a laid-back meal. Only downside is parking during peak times, but the food is worth it. Definitely coming back!

We were on our way to another restaurant when we passed Guero, and decided to give it a try instead. The restaurant looks small and narrow from the outside, but it's actually fairly roomy with a lot of seating. We stopped in on a Friday afternoon around 2pm, and didn't have to wait to get seated, which was great. Our server was friendly. She greeted us and took our order immediately. We decided to try their smash burger torta, a carnitas bowl, and the house chips & salsa. I also tried the horchata with lime and really liked it, but my fiance said he's not a fan of it because it didn't tasted like the original ones. Happy to report everything tasted great! My fiancé really enjoyed the burger/torta as it was perfectly grilled and seasoned. It looked quite neat but became sloppy when you bite into it (which is a good thing). I really enjoyed my carnitas bowl as well as it came with various vegetables and the carnitas were so delicious. I also really enjoyed the horchata as it was plant based, and flavored with lime. To me it tasted refreshing, but my fiancé said he preferred regular horchata instead which worked in my favor! Overall, we really enjoyed our meal and would come back for more!

I really enjoyed my experience at Guero. The employees were all so so friendly and welcoming. I really appreciated that. The vibe was a 10/10. Chill music, awesome ambiance and decor. Nice menu, I liked how it wasn't too big since I'm very indecisive. Lots of good options. I think they are known for their tortas so that's what I got. Mine had carnitas on it and it was good. Nothing too special but a solid and satisfying lunch. They had this orange salsa on all the tables that was amazinggg. It had carrots and Jalapeños in it which actually went so well together. Very unique. Tasted great on the torta. I also noticed they were selling it in the front so assume it's house made. This spot has been featured on diners drive ins and dives which I realized when I saw a sign on the wall for it. Thought that was really cool. Overall, this is such a cute place to go with friends or really whenever!
